Damn! I'm sure the %m means something, but I haven't a clue what.
I got the %m in my (brief) testing when I used modprobe, but insmod 
worked fine for vfat, msdos, and tulip. But then, I am not passing 
options to those modules. I didn't bother to try inserting sbpcd since I 
don't have that cdrom.

I'll fool around with it some more tonight. In the meantime, if anyone 
knows what I am doing wrong, please feel free to clue me in. ;)

I've just built the modutils package again, this time as an rpm, so it 
includes all the patches, the same config options, etc. as the Red Hat 
version. 
The only difference is I linked against uClibc. I'll build a new image 
tonight.
