KMail/1.4.3 |
Hello All
For the first? time Redhat have packaged kmail and kppp separately on their
own. I used to look for kdenetwork to get these.
The reason I am so interested in these two apps is that they are so easy to
setup that I can picture non-Gnu/Linux people being interested (this is my
main project.)
Kde is a bear on older boxes and much lighter window managers are an excellent
replacement. Blackbox, e.g., allows kmail and kppp to run (as it allows other
gui apps) but one is still required to install some kde... or not?
Last question: are any of the alternatives to either kmail or kppp likely not
to scare off non-Gnu/Linux people? I use pine but that is only because I got
used to it while doing e-mail on the Internet with an xt (my first computer
online.) I use the command line more than the gui but I don't expect many
others to (present company excluded, of course!) It is just that I have this
urge to get even more people using Gnu/Linux.
