great ;-)

Ok, thanks for this tip. So I try again:

Time of starting the install: 9h21
1. Booting from the already created Floppy - OK
2. Inserting the Stage2-Floppy - I/O-Error
   Slinky asks for a fresh disk - Great Solution, since broken disks
   will often happen, the costs of floppys are a concern and so they
   will be used until they are really broken!
3. Changing to console 2 allows me to dd an other disk - also this is a
   very wise feature of Slinky.
4. Chaning back to console 1 I can continue with the newly created
   stage-2-disk. OK
5. Being asked to insert RH9 Disk 1 into the CD-ROM Drive, I can not
   open the drive. Changing back to console two, typing mount shows that
   hdc is NOT mounted. Mounting and unmounting it again, does not change
   the situation. I ls a subdir on hdc to check if it is well connected
   - this is not the problem. In the end, I just hit enter in the (false)
   hope, that if Slinky detects the wrong CD-ROM it will ask for changeing
   it. Since this does not work I end with Ctrl+C and start over again.

---

Second try:

Now the Stage2-Disk works - BUT same problem as above, I can not eject the
CD-ROM - so I guess this has more to do with the firmware of the machine
than with Slinky.

---

Third try:

1. Powering of the machine, waiting 10 seconds -
   OK now, until starting the copy-process from RH9 Disk1 - so it was
   definitly NOT a Slinkyproblem.

2. During install from Disk 1:
   * Problem reported: fontconfig

3. During install from Disk 2: no problems - OK

4. During install from Slinky-ISO:
   * MS-Corefonts: I should press 'q' - why?? (I pressed 'y', which
     worked.

5. Reboot:
   machine hangs after 'Enabling swap space [ok]'
   ==> I power it off

6. Second Startup: OK up to login

7. Login as user 'vum' OK

8. startx:
   '... fluxbox: error while loading shared libraries: libexpat.so.0 ...'
   'waiting for X server to shut down Int 10h ... functioncall failed)'
   'DPMS failed -1'
   And I am back on the console

I attach the logfile, please let me know what to do. Bye, Ingo.
