If I am remembering correctly savannah allows rsync over ssh access.
I was able to
1. rsync their directory to my local copy.
2. remove unwanted files from local copy
3. rsync --delete -navz <local dir> <savannah dir>
(using -n to make sure it worked as planned)
4. rsync --delete -avz <local dir> <savannah dir>
Step 4 should actually remove the files.
Now of course I could be losing my mind and be thinking of something I did
on sourceforge. ;-)

Still buried under a pile of backlogged projects. I lost a couple of weeks
with a death in the family. (still dealing with some of the issues)
Of course all my contracts ramped up as I was out of town.
I finally got my todo list together and my calendar laid out so I can to
some time to catch up on fun projects.
Still haven't dealt with the main rule mailing list backlog. ;-)
