If you can email (even offlist) pseudo, rough Perl code doing this,
I'll study how to rewrite it

OK, found the way to do the same in PHP

OK again: I will write, later this week, *one* page explaining both "how
to write" and "how to translate" for the RULE web site, since to
maintain all the php generation/cross language linking it is essential
that all text source files, regardless of the language, follow the
same formatting rules. About the request for translation to put in
what I called the "empty page": isn't it better to create a Perl-like
site-wide hash with one entry per language:
'it', 'Questa pagina non esiste ancora, vorresti tradurla?'
'de', 'German translation of: the page you requested doesn't
exist, if you can translate it, please contact XYZ' (**)
so that if en/index.php is called like "en/index.php?L=de"
it inserts the 'de' entry in nice bold red font right at the top of
the page?
(**) Of course, it should be something a bit more detailed, nice and
formal...
Last but not least: don't worry if I fall offline for some days: I'll
get the RH 8.0 disks this afternoon, so tonight is install night, with
the usual risks and reconfiguration hassles to be expected...
Ciao,
Marco Fioretti
