A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Sven Herzberg <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: eMonkey
System name: emonkey
This package wants to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
eMonkey will be a GNOME/GTK GUI for the edonkey file-sharing client, which is
only available (for linux) as a console-client. The GUI will connect to the
so-called \'client-core\' via TCP. Then it\'s possible to use the edonkey
file-sharing system in a user-friendly way.
eMonkey will be written in JAVA using the GTK2.0-bindings from
java-gnome/java-gtk (http://java-gnome.sourceforge.net) in the version of 0.8.x
(which is not available at present). It is planned to run on a free JAVA
implementation but it\'s not decided yet, whether this project delivers
java-bytecode usuable by kaffe (www.kaffe.org) or it delivers native
\'machine-code\' made by the free gcj since version 3.0 (http://gcc.gnu.org).
There is no source available yet, as the java-bindings and the GTK2.0 libs are
still developed.
