A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Asus <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: libconnect
System name: libconnect
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Description:
Libconnect is a simple library wrapper fully written in assembly language (NASM
syntax) that intercepts the calls applications make to establish TCP
connections and transparently proxies them as necessary.
Existing applications can use this library without any recompilation or
modification by setting the LD_PRELOAD
environment variable. Libconnect will be loaded into the process space
overriding the \'old\' libc connect().
If you provide multiple proxies they can be cycled connection
after connection. At the moment only \'connect\' proxies are supported, but
support for post ones will be added soon.
I think that this library could be useful in a lan environment when no nat
support is provided to access the big internet.
You can download the latest distribution at
ftp://asus.dyndns.org/pub/projects/libconnect/libconnect-0.3.tar.gz
Other Software Required:
nasm is required to build the library
Other Comments:
rpm and debian packages are provided
