Hi,
as part of the vhffs[1] developpers team, i use ideas and examples
from "savannah.texi" to overcome the NGROUPS_MAX limitation.
So i want to thank you for these informations that were very helpful for me.
But i use another approach. Instead of patching every program relying
on initgroups(), i wrote a little library that will be preloaded
(set in /etc/ld.so.preload to work with setuid programs) before
the standard C library. This work only for elf shared glibc system.
You will find more information in the README file within the source package.
If interested, get the source package at
ftp://ftp.vhffs.org/vhffs2/pool/main/v/vhffs-libc/vhffs-libc_0.4-1.tar.gz
or by cvs
cvs -d ":pserver:address@hidden:/cvsroot/vhffs2" checkout vhffs-libc
Regards
