Brian C. DeRocher <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Object Oriented Tables for PostgreSQL
System name: oot
Type: non-GNU
Description:
This project is an effort to add inheritance to
PostgreSQL tables via a library. It\'s in its
beginning stages, so there\'s no documentation
yet.
What does this mean? Well you could create a
table food with the property taste. Then you
could create a table beverage which inherits
taste and adds viscosity.
This project was created because PostgreSQL\'s
implementation of inheritance is flawed.
So far it works smoothly, but i\'d like to clean
up the code a bit. And this project could evolve
to obviate the need for PostgreSQL.
Other Software Required:
PostgreSQL
JDBC interface to PostgreSQL
