Hello,

I would want to have a good possibility to mirror from the download
area for the "nongnu/auctex" project.  I attach a mail from the CTAN
maintainer where he says that doing this from http is not feasible
(and indeed, my own attempt with wget got down very strange things).
Is there a possibility via anonymous ftp or anonymous rsync?

Thanks for pointing this out.  AUC TeX is important enough to always
carry current versions on CTAN.

I do not like this at all.  HTTP mirroring basically doesn't work.
Manual updating, either by us or by you uploading to us is way too much
work and error prone.

Do you have connections to savannah.nongnu.org?  Can you ask them to
allow FTP access for mirroring?
