Nick Vallianos <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: PO translator assistant
System name: po-assist
Type: non-GNU

Description:
PO translator assistant is a piece of software aimed at making the translation
of PO files completely straightforward. The gui will be designed in a way which
will hide all the file format information but make full use of the features it
provides. The development plan currently contains four phases:
1) Design: Class-Object design - basic object interface.
2) Writing a php web application of PO translator assistant
3) Writing a php-gtk application of PO translator assistant
4) Writing a C++/gtk+ application of PO translator assistant
The basic object interface will be designed to provide:
extensibility ( addition of features such as dictionaries )
portability ( to other OO languages )
There is no code to show now, but the basic idea is that there will be an Entry
class (PO entry) and a Session class, which will contain an Entry object for
each PO entry, global settings and all
functionality such as opening a file, manipulating and saving through it\'s
methods.

Other Software Required:
A web server with php4 and a web browser
or
php-gtk and gtk+
or
or
gtk+ and gpp,
according to the implementation.

Other Comments:
I already wrote a piece of C software for this job, but it\'s not really an
assistant. It just works in prompting each string and waiting for a translation
( and it\'s fail-safe, too! ).
I\'d like to have this in the project\'s \"history\".
