Thomas Widmann <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: The Bibulus bibliography processing syst
System name: bibulus
Type: non-GNU

Description:
This project aims to create a system to format bibliographies and references.
It should function as a replacement for the BibTeX program which is bundled
with LaTeX, but it should also work with other programs. For instance, it is
already able to output plain text and HTML as well as LaTeX.

It is written in Perl, and bibliographies are stored and processed in XML.

It it highly modular so that other people should easily be able to write other
output modules (e.g., for groff or for OpenOffice).

It includes code to convert old BibTeX databases to XML.

Version 0.01 (almost non-functional) is available at
<http://www.widmann.uklinux.net/bibulus/Bibulus-0.01.tar.gz>

Other Software Required:
Perl 5.8.0.
The Perl module XML::Twig (distributed under the same terms as Perl itself).
BibTeX (only if converting old BibTeX databases).
