Luis Alberto D Afonseca <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Open Optimization Library
System name: ool
Type: non-GNU
Description:
The aim of this project is to code under the GSL (GNU Scientific
Library) standards, some optimization methods developed by the
Optimization group at the State University of Campinas, Brazil.
The first step is reimplement the optimization software
gencan, originally written in fortran 77, that solves
the box-constrained non-linear minimization problem
Minimize f(x)
subject to l \leq x \leq u
using a method described by the paper: E. G. Birgin and
J. M. MartÃnez, "Large-scale active-set box-constrained optimization
method with spectral projected gradients", Computational Optimization
and Applications, 23, pp. 101-125 (2002)
Other Software Required:
The only dependence is the GSL ( GNU Scientific Library )
