Details:

I would like to reset to an earlier commit in my GIT project.

But "git push --force" is being rejected. Evidently, I need to edit the
.git/config file to allow this.

But there is no SSH access. SSH says "VCS commands are allowed", but for any
command I try, it is rejected.

How can I edit the .git/config file to allow the forced push?
