Details:

When trying to push a (important) bugfix to the Git repository holding the
ELPA branch of auctex, I got:

% git push
Counting objects: 7, done.
Delta compression using up to 2 threads.
Compressing objects: 100% (4/4), done.
Writing objects: 100% (4/4), 592 bytes | 0 bytes/s, done.
Total 4 (delta 3), reused 0 (delta 0)
error: unpack failed: unpack-objects abnormal exit
To git://git.sv.gnu.org/emacs/elpa
 ! [remote rejected] externals/auctex -> externals/auctex (n/a (unpacker
error))
error: failed to push some refs to 'git://git.sv.gnu.org/emacs/elpa'
%

Searching the web seems to indicate it's likely a permissions issue, but not
only I can't fix those myself, but I can't understand why we'd have such
problems suddenly.
