Follow-up Comment #3, sr #108855 (project administration): There is nothing error prone about removing the old set and adding the new set. What is a "manual" upload of index.html? You commit it to CVS and the server kicks off a website update? If the gnu.org website update process is not robust, then that's a distinct issue.
