Description:

  Pympa aims to provide a set of tools to manipulate MPEG audio files and
streams. The only language used is Python, a choice made to ensure
portability between multiple platforms. The project is essentially made up of
two Python modules, mpalib.py and pympa.py:
- mpalib.py: this is the module containing the actual library of functions
and classes used for opening, seeking, splitting and extracting information
from frame headers and id3 (v1.1) tags; the library does NOT contain any
algorithm to encode/decode the actual MPEG audio data: only a "high-level"
interface to the MPEG format is provided. No dependencies to report.
-pympa.py: this just implements a simple GUI for the mpalib.py module. It
depends on the WxPython libraries.
