This is a free software developed under the GPL.It is an educational system.
It bascially aims at being a DSS which helps to analyse a student's
performance based upon certain parameters. The maim highlight of our software
is that it displays the students performance in a graphical format which is
visually striking to the user and thus helps in better analysis of the
student. The graphical forms are of three types, viz the subjectwise Reprt,
the comparative report and the annual report. In the annual report the entire
years progress is displayed in a graphical form, where as in the subjectwise
report the students performance is compared with the other students performace
in a particular subject and class. Similarly, in a comaparative report, the
students performance is rated based upon his previous years performance. Along
with these graphs, more details about the student, like his extracurricular
details and the likings for a particular subject in a particular year are
displayed. So with the help of all these parameters, it becomes very easy for
the psychological analyst to analyse the students performance.
Our software is basically developed in "python" and the backend used is
PostgreSQL. The driver between the two is the psycopg2 driver. Since a very
large database needs to be handled, we have used PSQL.
Thus,Gurukool is a software system to track student's educational
performances on the basis of the marks they score, compared with their
individual assessment and likes or dislikes for a subject or feedback on the
teaching method of a particular teacher.
