2010-10-23 in GNU Savannah task #10428: "Submission of Code of Greed".
Hello.
There are still some details with licensing as of trunk revision 201:
/lib/tf/behavior/* carry Copyright notices, but no licensing
information. For /lib/tf/parsers/configobj.py it's preferable to keep
the permissive notice (3BSD) embedded in the file, just as the GPL
notice above. More information in
http://www.softwarefreedom.org/resources/2007/gpl-non-gpl-collaboration.html.
Is the Copyright holder referred to in some copyright notices
(TribleFlame Oy), a legal entity that can be assigned copyright? If
not, please use the author(s)' name(s) instead.
I'm unable to find the licensing information of /doc/latex/pic/* and
/lib/tf/gfx/widget/*.png. Please add this information in a README
file. /data/README do state the license but missed the Copyright
holder(s). Could you please add the names of the Copyright holder(s)
too?. A proper example of README can be find in
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/plain/etc/images/README.
- From [2]: Creative Commons publishes many licenses which are very
different. Therefore, to say that a work is under a "Creative Commons
license" is to leave the principal questions about the work's
licensing unanswered.
Please use the name of the specific license (For instance: "Creative
Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported") and possibly include a
plain text copy of that license (See below). I'm talking about
/data/README, but please also replace references elsewhere, if any.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please bear in mind proper software licensing is necessary to take
full advantage of free software. Unfortunately, we don't have a
universally recognized right to exercise the essential freedoms for
software [1], we need permissions which are specific to a work,
usually given as a free software license [2]. We want to encourage
good licensing practices to ensure the user will know his rights and
will be able to really exercise them.
