[Scim-user] pinyin tone input

I apologize in advance for the basic question.

I am using the smart pinyin input method, and having trouble entering the tone. Since the default SELECT_KEYS are 0-9, when attempting to enter the tone, I select the corresponding chinese character instead.

Example: wo3 selects the character 沃 instead of giving me a choice of characters that have the sound 'wo' in the third tone.

In scim configuration of the smart pinyin method, I selected "use tone". I have no idea if that makes a difference.

I would change the SELECT_KEYS in the input method table, but the file is binary.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,
Jon
