I cloned the repository a few minutes ago.  After auto reconf and 
configure, gmake fails thus:

GUILE_AUTO_COMPILE=0                            \
../../src/pre-inst-skribilo -I . -P ../../doc/img -S . -S 
../../src/guile -B . -e '(define %top-srcdir "../..")' -e '(define 
%top-builddir "../..")'  -e "(define %have-ploticus? (= 0 1))" -e 
"(define %ploticus-path (= 0 1))" --target=html -o user.html user.skb
ERROR: 
/home/rmason/Software/skribilo/src/guile/skribilo/debug.scm:157:36: 
unexpected character in Skribilo module #\'
gmake[3]: *** [user.html] Error 1
