Hello!
For some time I think about peering my small server with you as well. So I read
http://code.google.com/p/sks-keyserver/wiki/Peering
It contains a lot of useful information! Near the end it mentions that "your
keyserver becomes a candidate for automatic inclusion in the ... DNS pool".
The pool servers status pages show that the number of servers is somewhat
limited (compared to the NTP pool in which I also participate:
http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/ ). Some time ago with the NTP pool DNS
balancing has been an issue resulting in occasional high loads on single
systems.
What load can I expect once my system enters the SKS-pool? What number of
requests, what amount of concurrent users, traffic per request, kind of
requests (like specific key downloads or key searches) etc.? Any information
is appreciated!
Thanks!
Arnold &:-)
