WOW. Thanks for articulating this, Hellekin and co. What I really like
about this is that anyone could potentially develop any application,
and practically any data set as a "participant" within it.

Making things file-format, OS, and device agnostic (I would throw in
programming language agnostic, at least in terms of architecture) is
absolutely crucial.

If the whole of GNU Social embraces this vision, it'll produce
something amazing.
