Over on the clamav-users and clamav-devel list there have been lots of
messages flying back and forth concerning BSD thread support.  The
general consensus so far seems to be to convert to using thr instead
of thread.  While that info may not directly help you, it may point to
an underlying issue with the thread library that sendmail/milter is
compiled with.
