[Straw-devel] dependency on 2.4?

Hi,


Should we depend on Python 2.4 for 0.26? I outlined my reasons below. 

1. The Python bindings to DBUS 0.33 and future releases depends on Python
   2.4 decorators. 

2. Since 0.26 atm depends on python 2.3, would it make sense to depend on 2.4
   so future versions (the ones after 0.26 and releases that won't be on a
   yearly basis ;) can base the code on Python 2.4 and possibly using 2.4's
   features. 

(1) If we decided not to ship with 2.4, I might have to drop the dbus support.

(2) any comments on this one? How many distros out there that doesn't have 2.4
    packaged yet?
