Hello,
i use ratpoison for some years now, and now that i am learning lisp, i
started also using stumpwm. Some people from #stumpwm showed me how to
control stump from emacs through swank and i find this really amazing!
I can do a lot of things, i also started customizing stump from there,
which not only is fun, but helps me improve also my lisp skills.
Enough with the good words ;) i am writting this e-mail to state some
problems i have, and i suspect that they are bugs.
1. I have created a greek dvorak layout, because there was nothing
available, and i got confusing switching from dvorak to the greek
qwerty based layout. On each other WM, i give from console: xmodmap
gvorak on the directory i have the gvorak map, and it runs. On stumpwm
the whole X crashes. The error message i see on tty after the crash is
the following:
font size 16 is too large. 15 is used
X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
Waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE
"/usr/share/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.
address@hidden:~$
2. when i use the function set-font with a correct font (i mean a font
that exists) then it works fine, when i write a non-existing font, for
example (set-font 'hello) then it crashes again, and i get almost the
same error as in case #1, with the line:
Connection lost to X server `:0.0',
before the last line.
Well the second case although it is annoying... if i make a typo while
setting the font, i have to restart the whole wm, but i can live with
it, i cant live with the first one as i can not use the gvorak
layout and so i am unable to write in greek. (layouts that are loaded
with setxkbmap do work).
Info about my system: i use debian testing, sbcl that is in debian
testing, and stumpwm from cvs.
I hope i gave all the info needed to understand what causes the crashes.
