Here is another paper I found on IBM support software.
Lorek, Helmut and Michael Sonnenschein, 1999. Modeling and simulation
software to support individual based models. Ecological Modelling
115:199-126.
In fact Eco Modelling (115) has a whole group of papers on IBMs in Ecology
from a conference.
Please don't shoot the sender (me), there is no reference to Swarm in this
paper. I didn't write it.
There is a lot more being done in Germany and The Netherlands than in the US
on integrating IBMs and Ecological theory.
