Check out Breve (http://www.spiderland.org), I suspect that's more what you are looking for... It's like Swarm in some ways, but with physics simulation (which is nicely decoupled from the agent descriptions). There are some gaming engines (open source and commercial) that also do physics simulation, and ought to work for agent modeling.
