A Swarm binary which made the Tcl/Tk/BLT installation process
unneccessary would signify a tremendous progress (compiling the Swarm
sources has never been a problem as far as I can see). So a self
contained binary distribution would be a quantum leap for Swarm, if I
may be so bold.

As an avid Swarmer, I hate having to explain to people that if they want
to experiment with Swarm they'll have to bribe their sys admin or spend
a couple of frightful days, full time, installing it. And there are
probably dozens of lurkers out there that still haven't had their first
taste of Swarming because of these entry barriers...

So I hope that you can get it to work. (Being an economist, I am of
course also saying this out of pure selfishness. I've been putting of
for months installing Swarm on the local 15 processor Sparc, which sits
frightfully idle most nights and weekends. I'd love to let it rip...)

-Benedikt

PS. By the way: Are there any parts of Swarm other than the Graphs and
Probes that rely on Tk/Tcl, i.e. is it possible to compile and execute
simulations that are purely Batch (don't set the DISPLAY variable) on
systems that don't have Tk/Tcl installed?

PPS. And again: What is the easiest way to test if Obj-C patches are
installed in a GNU C compiler?
