Need help compiling sample programs

Hi, I'm new to the Swarm scene and am having problems compiling any of the
sample apps in swarmapps-1.0.2.

The system I'm trying to compile them on is a Pentium-200MMX running Debian
Linux 1.3, using gcc 2.7.2.1.

This is the error I get when trying to compile the tutorial simpleCBug (all
the other samples give similar errors):
