error messages about conflicting types

Hi,

We are installing Swarm1.2 on IRIX6.4 system using gcc2.8.1, tcl8.0,
tk8.0, blt8.0-unoff, and gmake (gnu make). 

gcc complains about conflicting types for swarm_strchr.

Any help would be appreciated.
