tsearch implementations can be found on HPUX, Irix, and Solaris, and
of course the source code is free (and easy to extract from glibc), so as a
practical matter, portability is not a problem.
I would like to emphasize that I only suggested this to Paul as a workaround
to the sorry state of affairs in the collections library. Swarm should
be providing an interface to efficient implementations of these features.
