Win95 editor choice for swarm |

Hi,
I'm having trouble getting past running the demos using Swarm for Win95.
My first question: Is there a reason that I must use emacs (or some other
unix editor) vs. Microsoft Word to edit my files? I have been trying to go
through the SimpleBug tutorial, but I cannot get 'make' to recognize the
Makefile. When I type 'make' while in the same directory as the SimpleCBug
Makefile, I get
Makefile:1: *** missing separator. Stop.
I changed SWARMHOME in the Makefile using Microsoft Word, so I am thinking
this may have caused some renaming problem??? What extension am I supposed
to have after the Makefile filename?
Also, is this the correct type of path setting for Win95?
SWARMHOME=C:/Swarm-1.3
Most of the documentation shows a unix path, so I wasn't sure if this was
correct.
Thanks.
