win 98 install

First, a quick documentation comment.  You should remove any reference
to "bash" in the documentation.  If you install over cygnus 1.9 "bash"
is left in the menu and if you chose it instead of "terminal" it hangs
up the system.

Now to the real stuff:

Myt 1.3 install was seemless, not quite so for 1.4.  Here are two errors
the first is from my own app and the second is from the new heatbugs.
Any help is appreciated...
