compilation problems

I upgraded to egcs 1.1.1-7 and also upgraded glibc.  Suddenly, I've
started getting lots of errors when I try to compile swarm apps under
swarm 1.4.  Below is the output text from a make of heatbugs.  Any advice
would be much appreciated.
