Actually the test suite in the `tests/space' subdirectory has been
added since 1.4.1 (it will be in 2.0), the `configure' distributed
with 1.4.1 doesn't generate a `tests/space/Makefile', so don't worry
about it for now (it will fail anyway, because it test functionality
that will be new in 2.0)
