There's a lower-level (C) interface called xptcall
(http://www.mozilla.org/scriptable/xptcall-faq.html) that other
languages could use to control XPCOM components. In the extreme case
using this interface, it would be possible to replace Tcl/Tk with
Mozilla widgets without having anything that looked like navigator at
all (where the Swarm model remained an executable). For Java info,
look at the Blackwood pages (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/blackwood).
