Multiple Zones

With a logzone user, the question came up of what use multiple Zones
(outside of scratchZone/globalZone) could possibly be.  I can only
think of different chunk sizes for optimizing alloc/free.  Is there
first-hand experience someone wants to share or something obvious 
we overlooked?
