gdb hanging in Swarm 2.1.1

Afternoon,

I'm in the process of converting code to 2.1.1 and I've run into a problem
that requires the debugger (gdb).

I'm running Windows 2000, and I noticed that there had been a problem with
this version of the operating system freezing under gdb. I've tried
Heatbugs under gdb and it also freezes.

A copy and paste from the terminal for a simple hello world command line
follows:

Starting program: /src/simpletest/hello.exe
61000000:D:/Swarm-2.1.1/bin/cygwin1.dll
77db0000:C:/WINNT/system32/ADVAPI32.DLL"C:/WINNT/system32/ADVAPI32.DLL":
can't r
ead symbols: File format not recognized.
77e80000:C:/WINNT/system32/KERNEL32.DLL"C:/WINNT/system32/KERNEL32.DLL":
can't r
ead symbols: File format not recognized.
77d40000:C:/WINNT/system32/RPCRT4.DLL"C:/WINNT/system32/RPCRT4.DLL": can't

<screech>

I can't find any followup on gdb freezing under Win 2000 in the mail list
archives. Was there a resolution or fix?

Thanks,

Karl
