There's nothing about the mechanics that _ought_ to be this way,
especially if all the schedules are simple repeating schedules. I
suspect it is a bounded technical issue that can be fixed. If someone
would compile Swarm and this example with profiling info, and post the
data, I could much more efficiently say whether a fix is feasible or
what exactly the issue is.
