I upgraded HDF5, and was able to complete the build.
Thanks for the help do far.
I started testing the new swarm with the examples from swarmapps-2.1.1
The objective C apps seems to work OK, but the Java apps produce errors:
jheatbugs-2.1:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
$ gmake
/opt/swarm/swarm-2001-03-26/bin/javacswarm Heatbug.java HeatCell.java
HeatSpace.java HeatbugModelSwarm.java HeatbugObserverSwarm.java
StartHeatbugs.java HeatbugBatchSwarm.java
HeatbugModelSwarm.java:298: cannot resolve symbol
symbol : constructor FArgumentsImpl (HeatbugModelSwarm,swarm.Selector,boolean)
location: class swarm.defobj.FArgumentsImpl
new FArgumentsImpl (this, sel, true)));
^
1 error
gmake: *** [all] Error 1
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
jmousetrap-2.1:
This one build witout errors, but when I try to run it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
$ gmake run
/opt/swarm/swarm-2001-03-26/bin/javaswarm StartMousetrap
# # An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.#
Program counter=0xf4b60f50

gmake: *** [run] Error 134
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I used the j2sdk1_3_0 jdk from Sun for building swarm.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
$ /usr/local/java/j2sdk1_3_0/bin/java -version
java version "1.3.0"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.0)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.0, mixed mode)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Has this java version problems with Swarm?
If so, can you recommend another Java version for use with Solaris 8 ?
