        Hi Marcus,

waiting for jdk1.3.3 to discover if the java problem is fixed, I'm newly here with a problem coming form v.2.2, in Objective C.

I'll report below my story, hoping that you can see what is strange in my installation.

        Pietro

I'm using Windows 98 4.10.2222 A

Here you have mount and path results

$ mount
c:\Swarm-2.1.1\jheatbugs-2001-03-28 on /home/Standard/jheatbugs type user (textmode)
c:\Swarm-2.1.1\swarmapps-2.1.1 on /home/Standard/swarmapps type user (textmode)
c:\Swarm-2.1.1\mieApps on /home/Standard/mieApps type user (textmode)
C:\cygwin\bin on /usr/bin type system (binmode)
C:\cygwin\lib on /usr/lib type system (binmode)
c:\Swarm-2.2 on /Swarm-2.2 type user (binmode)
c:\jdk1.3.1 on /jdk1.3.1 type user (textmode)
C:\cygwin on / type system (binmode)
c: on /cygdrive/c type user (binmode,noumount)

$ echo $PATH
/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/Swarm-2.2/BIN:/jdk1.3.1/BIN:.:/cygdrive/c/PROGRA~1
/TOOLS:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS:/cygdrive/c/WINDOWS/COMMAND:/cygd
rive/c/PROGRA~1/SSHCOM~1/SSHSEC~1

USING Objective C

make in heatbugs gives a lot of messages of the type
gcc: HeatbugObserverSwarm.m: Objective-C compiler not installed on this system

$ which gcc

gives

/usr/bin/gcc

if I rename /usr/bin/gcc, i.e. gcc.ex0

$ which gcc

gives

/Swarm-2.2/BIN/gcc

but

make in heatbugs gives
$ make
gcc -c -g -O2 -Wall -Wno-import -Wno-protocol -Werror -DMETHOD_FUNCTIONS -DAPPN AME=heatbugs -DAPPVERSION=2.1.1 address@hidden -DDLL -I/Swarm-2.2/include Heatbug.m
Virtual memory exhausted: Invalid argument
make: *** [Heatbug.o] Error 1

end of the (sad) story!
