regxpcom fails

i found out something potentially relevant:

regxpcom fails when trying to register libxpcomswarm.so

it says:

i guess this may be responsible for the instantiation problems reported in
my last mail.
but why cant he open the shared object, or should i do so somehow ?
(i tried re-registering all components by removing component.reg in the
mozilla/bin dir, but it didnt help.)
