Hi,
I'm sorry that i have to mail you again but I cannot access the swarm mailing list. Before this i use to put in the address myself to access the list till December 2002 (reason the page had problems.....only showing list till May). But now i can't access for January 2003 using
http://www.santafe.edu/projects/swarm/archive/list-archive.0301/index.html
The reason given by the webmaster was that the maintainance is being taken over
by another university.
I need to know what does these files below do, (why needed?, function?):
Pretty much everything I know is already explained here:
http://lark.cc.ku.edu/~pauljohn/Swarm/Swarm-2.2x_RPMSforRH8.0/
blt-2.4u-7.i386.rpm
required, can get from RH 7.3 disk. blt is used to make graphs.
gcc-3.2-7.i386.rpm
some version of gcc is required. That's the C compiler
gcc-objc-3.2-7.i386.rpm
some version of this is required, objective C compiler
hdf5-1.4.4-1RH80.i386.rpm
required for my rpms. hdf5 is a data storage library
libgcc-3.2-7.i386.rpm
some version is required. GCC requires this runtime shared library
libobjc-3.2-7.i386.rpm
I don't remember this, but some version is necessary
swarm-2.1.141.20021019-2RH8.0.i386.rpm
looks like my rpm, required for swarm.
swarm-gcjswarm-2.1.141.20021019-2RH8.0.i386.rpm
not required, optional. It uses the gnu java compiler, rather than the
SUN jdk. Usage is explained:
http://lark.cc.ku.edu/~pauljohn/Swarm/Swarm-2.x_RPMSforRH7/
swarm-jdk-2.1.141.20021019-2RH8.0.i386.rpm
not required, but if you want to run java swarm with the SUn JDK-1.4.1,
this is needed.
jikes
required. It is a java compiler. can get from the RH7.3 disk.
glibc-devel
required
Thanks.
Regards,
Kana
