[Swftools-common] Freetype missing

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to install swftools-0.6.1 on a Scientific Linux 302 server 
with 4 processors.
I get the following error:
        checking for missing libraries...  freetype avifile

I don't need avifile and I've already installed freetype... have a look 
below:

>freetype-config --libs
        -L/usr/local/lib/ -Wl,--rpath -Wl,/usr/local/lib/ -lfreetype -lz
----------
> freetype-config --prefix
/usr/local
----------
> freetype-config --exec-prefix
/usr/local

what's wrong?
Shall I change prefix? shall I use a special flag to compile swftools?
