To follow up I have tried both the methods detailed at this location.

I have been able to install pdf2swf but the gfx module is never compile. Am I out of luck using python 2.7 or Am I missing something really obvious? Please help.

I got the latest stable version and did python setup.py build and it failed with compileerror not being available. Once I removed compileerror references it started failing on freetype detection. Does anyone have any pointers as to how I should proceed.
