Ok, I can understand that problem. And since HTML/CSS in its wisdom
does not provide any way to say "go back to the default font" (as far as
I know?), I guess we can't do better in that case.
Anyway, I'm not worried about it, because that is not the usual case. I
have never seen @display (or anything else) nested within @example.
The usual case is for @display to be used at the top level. And then,
as far as I can see it is better to use font-family:inherit for the
reason I gave.
