[tpop3d-discuss] tpop3d, auth-other, php auth script and heavy load

If you remember, I use php script for authentication. The problem is that
when I start tpop3d on my primary mail server, I encounter a long response
timeout. Here goes tpop3d.conf:

listen-address: 0.0.0.0
max-children: 100
timeout-seconds: 30
mailbox: bsd:/var/spool/mail/$(user)
auth-other-enable: yes
auth-other-user: mail
auth-other-group: mail
auth-other-timeout: 5
auth-other-program: /sbin/actions/pop-auth

Any advice?

PS. I have only 2-3 concurrent tpop3d processes judging by ps -aux output.
