Please look in tramp-methods for a list of available methods.  Maybe
you are using a new version of Tramp with autodetection of inline
encodings.  This means that you just specify "ssh" as the method and
Tramp auto-detects whether to use uuencode or base64 encoding for the
transfer.

There might be some bugs in the autodetection code, maybe the current
Tramp version is better.  (Gotta release this as an XEmacs package.)
