Ah, hm.  Please (setq tramp-debug-buffer t) [this might be the
default] and then do it again and send the *debug tramp/foo* buffer.
I hope it doesn't contain any sensitive data -- maybe just send the
buffer to me personally; or censor the sensitive stuff.

I'm guessing that the command might have asked you a question.  Hm.
Oh, you could test this: outside of Emacs, log in to the remote host
like Tramp does (ie, invoke sudo -- not a remote host at all...), then
issue the above command.  Please be careful to place the single
quotes exactly as in the command, the placement of single quotes
sometimes causes trouble.  Then tell me (or the list) what happened.

I would prefer if you sent everything to the list, but I understand if
you'd rather keep it private, so if you prefer that, that's also fine.
